A Fun-Filled Day at Great Explorations in St. Pete, FL
A Fun-Filled Day at Great Explorations — Thanks to Our Glazer’s Membership!
As Glazer Children’s Museum members, we recently enjoyed a fantastic day at Great Explorations Children’s Museum in St. Pete, FL—earning a sweet 50% off our admission thanks to the reciprocal membership benefit.
Blippi Made Us Do It
The trip was actually inspired by my kids themselves—after watching an episode of Blippi that featured Great Explorations, they were determined to visit. Blippi’s excitement about the museum totally rubbed off on them, and they couldn’t wait to see it in person.
First Impressions & Overall Feel
Arriving at the museum, we immediately noticed how warm and kid-centric everything is—bright colors, engaging exhibits, and that unmistakable buzz of curious little ones. While it’s a cozier space compared to some larger children’s museums, that smaller scale gives it a homey vibe. Everything is on the same level, with a giant tree house/slide at the center.

Highlights That Captured My Kids’ Hearts
1. The Dentist Exhibit
My kids were absolutely drawn to the dentist station—complete with kid-sized dental chairs, tools, and puppets to practice check-ups. They spent ages role‑playing, asking me to be the patient while they “cleaned” my teeth. It was a clever mix of educational play and imagination.
2. The Tree‑Fort Slide
Next up, the moment of pure joy: the enormous slide that swoops down from the tree‑fort. This elevated jungle‑gym meets secret hideaway was a total hit. My kids practically sprinted up the stairs just to zoom down the slide again and again.

A Few Notes on Size & Crowds
Because the museum is on the smaller side, it doesn’t have the extensive variety of hands‑on zones you might find at larger venues. We noticed it got crowded quickly, especially near the popular exhibits.
Still, we didn’t mind the hustle—it just meant the place was buzzing with excitement. And thanks to our Glazer’s reciprocal discount, the experience felt even more worthwhile.
Final Verdict
Would we go again? Absolutely. While there may be a bit less to explore than at some bigger children’s museums, the quality of the exhibits—especially the imaginative dentist setup and the massive tree‑fort slide—made it a great afternoon destination.
Thanks to our reciprocity discount, the outing felt like a bonus with even better value. So if you’re in St. Pete with little ones, I’d definitely recommend stopping by Great Explorations.
Overall? Positive experience, delightful memories, and a day that lived up to the Blippi hype!
