Lets talk about CBD
Lets talk about CBD
Greetings moms, parents, and readers! I made a choice when I started blogging to only promote things that I have used myself, would buy, or have tried for at least 40 days. I won’t promote anything that I don’t believe in or wouldn’t use myself. Being authentic is my main priority. So, lets talk about CBD.
First of all, the most important thing to know is that CBD is not going to get you high. I repeat, CBD oils and CBD gummies will NOT-GET-YOU-HIGH. If you think that that is obvious to most people- it is not. I asked someone close to me to try CBD in place of her pharmaceuticals for sleeping and she said “but I don’t like feeling high”. So, no, it is not public knowledge to everyone. Now that that is cleared up. What, actually, is CBD then?
To quote the Mayo Clinic, “CBD is a chemical found in marijuana. CBD doesn’t contain tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the psychoactive ingredient found in marijuana that produces a high. The usual CBD formulation is oil, but CBD is also sold as an extract, a vaporized liquid and an oil-based capsule. Food, drinks and beauty products are among the many CBD-infused products available online.”
So why would a person use CBD?
There are numerous studies completed and ongoing on CBD. Please do your due justice and read these studies yourself as I have. Studies show that CBD may reduce/relieve chronic pain, reduce symptoms related to mental health disorders, alleviate certain cancer related symptoms, may have neurprotective properties, may benefit heart health, improve sleep, and can be used in substance abuse treatment.
Lets talk about CBD and my experience
My main reason for trying CBD was due to increased anxiety postpartum. This is not uncommon for women, unfortunately. I never experienced anxiety as a child or into early adulthood, but something just changed after I had my children. My anxiety is mainly related to my health and around things that are out of my control. I was not looking to pursue any kind of pharmaceutical, but I needed a way to calm down, and get to sleep when I needed to be asleep (sleep is priceless these days.) Side note, I am not against the use of pharmaceuticals for people who need them. My anxiety is generally very mild and does not effect my quality of life, so I didn’t feel it necessary.
I decided to look into CBD. After numerous days of scouring the internet and researching, I decided to try Nu Leaf Naturals CBD gummies. Honestly, they changed my life.
What does CBD feel like?
To reiterate it again, CBD does not have psychoactive features. You will not feel high. You may even feel nothing at all! In my experience, 30mg will just give me a very calming effect, to where I am relaxed enough to drift off into a sound sleep. I will be able to sleep peacefully for most of the night, where I used to wake up several times and be unable to get back to sleep.
Some people even prefer CBD to wine or alcohol, and honestly, I love a nice glass of wine but I agree. Having a CBD gummy instead of a glass of wine eliminates the sugar crash, the hangover, the dehydration. You actually wake up feeling refreshed. With young kids at home, I cant afford to have even a small hangover. Just my opinion.
Why I went with Nu Leaf Naturals product
After comparing different brands, I decided to go with Nu Leaf Naturals products. It is a no brainer if you do the research. Nu Leaf naturals CBD is organic, grown in the U.S., chemical free, and third party tested for purity and precise dosage.

*They DO sell THC products (THC is the psychoactive component in cannabis), so make sure that when you’re shopping their catalogue you know the difference between purchasing CBD (my recommendation) and THC. *
*I am an affiliate for Nuleaf Naturals, but that does not affect my opinion on the product.
